Capitol Hill’s War Room to close

The nightclub at 722 E. Pike St. will close Nov. 30, unless a buyer is found.

The Capitol Hill nightclub The War Room, on the corner of Harvard Avenue and East Pike Street, will close Nov. 30 unless a buyer is found.

In a written statement, co-owner Marcus Lalario said, “With so many issues still facing nightlife, we’re ready to move on. The liquor tax increase, mounting pressures from the City and State helped us make the decision.”

Among the bands to have played The War Room in the five years since it opened are Band of Horses, Cave Singers and Wolf Parade. The War Room is also known for its weekly hip-hop night, Yo, Son!

“We feel like we’ve had a good run of it,”  Lalario said.

Since I wrote this on Friday, I’m just going to jack it from M.I.S.S. and publish it here…

So yesterday we gave you a sneaky peeky and today we give you delivery one. Seriously! Someone call the paramedics. This ladyboner isn’t going away for a long time. Hellz dropped their Holiday 2009 Collection: Cult Classic today and the internet is going INSANE! You can’t deny that that Hellz continuously drops heat. Every collection gets better and better!  That’s great news for us.

Inspired by the amazing Cult Classic movie, ‘Heathers’: “Seeking to personify the seemingly innocent girl with anything but innocent intentions”.

The collection creates a moody and subtle yet inspiring ambiance through a darker holiday color palette with a sense of mischievousness throughout the collection, as well as a connection to every female’s devious side. New interesting pieces in this collection include; the ‘Villains’ jacket, a unique play on a motorcycle/peacoat with an exaggerated collar, perforated leather sleeves and wool body. Also, the ‘Kiss My…’ shemagh skirt with tie and fringe details.

As always, witty design and intricate detail are a staple for the collection and only help further prove that volatile and sly girls will forever be Cult Classics.

How amazing does she look? I forget how old the kid is, but she lost the baby weight fast. Anyway, I think she is so damn cute. I am very interested in the details of her outfit, most definitely feeling the skirt or dress and the bag. BUT, WWD did not spill the deets on the ‘fit.
